Clifford Junior Stevenson

Clifford Junior Stevenson, 70, of Phelps, KY, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Heritage Hall Nursing Center in Big Stone Gap, VA.  He was born March 8, 1947 at Coleman, KY, a son of the late Edgar & Bithie Smith Stevenson.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Groover & Sidney Stevenson; two grandsons: Chaston R. & Robert Gene Prater; and brothers-in-law: Ronald Casey & Veron Stepp.

Clifford was of the Baptist faith.  His friends nicknamed him “Straight”.  In his spare time, Clifford enjoyed working on vehicles.

Those left to cherish his memory include one son: Clifford Michael Stevenson of Phelps, KY; two daughters: Anita Carol (Ransom) Prater of Stopover, KY, Malena Gay Stump of Phelps, KY; two brothers: William (Georgia) Stevenson of Phelps, KY, Harold (Opal) Stevenson of Churchill, TN; two sisters: Della Stepp of Wytheville, VA, Eula Casey of Phelps, KY; a loving ex-wife: Carol Green; one sister-in-law: Mable Stevenson; seven grandchildren: Shawn Norman, Jerry Dotson, Ashley McCoy, Harley Stevenson, Timothy Stevenson, Justin Prater, Cory Stump; three great-grandchildren; along with a host of family & friends.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, February 25, 2018 at the Jones & West Funeral Home with Rev. Mitch Bowling officiating.

Burial will follow in the Bluesprings Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with family & friends serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home with special services beginning at 7:00 P.M.
