Michael Owen “Mikey” Hardin departed from this life unexpectedly on Sunday, April 21st, 2024, at the age of 34 in Kimper, KY due to injuries from an ATV accident. Mikey was born with a kind soul and a heart of gold to his parents, Doug and Wilma Hardin of Stopover, KY. Mikey was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earnest and Fern Dotson and Bea and Ersel Hardin, and a special uncle, Roger Hardin.
Mikey loved to hunt and made many lifelong friends and memories in the process. He enjoyed telling detailed hunting stories, some more believable than others. Mikey was always full of laughter and jokes, and he lived life to the fullest, finding a friend in anyone he met.
Mikey leaves behind his wife of 8 years, Kelsie Hardin of Kimper, KY; children, Azlynn Hardin 8, Raylan Maxwell 11, Brayden Ray 8, Iris Stone 5, Damian Stone 4, Carter Vanover 5, and Karsen Vanover 3; two brothers, Ersel “Bubber” Hardin (Cathy McCarter), and Josh Hardin both of Stopover, KY; a sister, Chrissy Hardin of Versailles, KY. He is also survived by a special friend and brother-in-law, Chris Kender and cousin who was like a brother to him, Kyle Hardin. Mikey had a host of nieces and nephews, Keisha Fields, Haley Kender, KayLee Chapman, Dylan Fields, and his favorite hunting buddy, Jacob Kender.
Visitation will be held Thursday April 25th, 2024 beginning at 6:00 P.M. at Freeburn Church of God. Special services will begin at 7:00 P.M. on Friday April 26th 2024 with pastors Dennie Land and Robert Coleman officiating.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 27th, 2024 at the church.
Interment will conclude in Hardin Cemetery at Stopover, KY. A host of friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
