Henry David Ray

Henry David Ray, 45, of Thacker, WV, passed away on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Pikeville Medical Center. 

He was born April 18, 1973 at South Williamson, KY, a son of John Nelson & Lillie Mae Dotson Ray.

Henry was preceded in death by his wife: Michelle Dotson Ray; one brother: Jason Lee Ray; and one sister: Tammy Ray.

Henry was the kind of person who loved helping others.  He was a momma’s boy.  He loved his mother so much.  He also dearly loved his nieces & nephews.  Henry enjoyed hunting, fishing, and tinkering on old vehicles & things. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his parents: John Nelson Ray & Lillie Mae Ray of Thacker, WV; brothers: Darrell Ray of Georgia, Kevin Ray of Paducah, KY, and his special little brother: Darrin Lee Ray.  Henry & Darrin Lee loved each other & liked to argue with one another.  Henry is also survived by two sisters: Maggie Marie Ray of Akron, OH, Virginia Ann Adams of Thacker, WV; and a host of nieces, nephews, family & friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 11, 2019 at the Bible Way Apostolic Church, Thacker, WV with Reverends Rick Jackson & Bernard Smith officiating.

Burial will follow in the Thacker Hollow Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. Wednesday & Thursday at the church. 

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Henry’s memory may be made directly to the funeral home to offset funeral expenses.
