Oakley “Blankenship” Layne a resident of the Good Shepherd Community Nursing Center of Phelps, KY passed away Monday, January 11, 2021 at the Pikeville Medical Center. She was born July 16, 1942 in Stopover, KY the daughter of the late Orville and Vera “Maynard” Blankenship. She was 78 years old.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter: Monecca “Turner” Miles and two brothers: Danny Ray and Eugene Blankenship.
Oakley loved to care for her family, friends, and her home. She loved her children and grandchildren, she also enjoyed cooking and planting flowers. She was of the Pentecostal faith and a member of the Camp Creek Pentecostal Church of Stopover, KY.
Survivors remaining to honor her memory include a daughter: Donna Mayhorn of Stopover, KY, four brothers: Clell Blankenship of Stopover, KY, William “Billy” (Debbie) Blankenship of Stopover, KY, Ronnie Dean (Melissa) Blankenship of Phelps, KY and Jamie (Angie) Blankenship of Kimper, KY, three grandchildren who she loved dearly: Josh Mayhorn of Stopover, KY, Hannah and Haley Miles of Kimper, KY. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and her Good Shepherd Community Nursing Center family.
Funeral services will be held at the Camp Creek Pentecostal Church of Stopover, KY Sunday, January 17, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverends Harold Layne and Gerald Fields officiating.
Burial will follow in the Katrina May Family Cemetery of Stopover, KY.
Visitation will be at the church Saturday evening at 6:00 P.M. with special services at 7:00 P.M.
