Ronald Blankenship

Ronald Blankenship of Majestic, KY passed away Friday, January 01, 2021 at the UK Medical Center of Lexington, KY. He was born July 04, 1958 in Woodman, KY the son of the late Herbert and Lizzie “Sellards” Blankenship. He was 62 years old. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother: Doug Sellards.

Ronald was a coal miner having worked for Cedar Point Mining. He enjoyed deer hunting, four-wheeler riding, and working on old vehicles. Ronald wanted anyone who was around him to learn something. He loved his family and loved his CB friends.

Survivors remaining to honor his memory include his wife: Martha Jane “Hendrickson” Blankenship, two sons: Mitchell (Karen) Blankenship of Hurley, VA, and Michael (Michelle) Blankenship of Burnside, KY, two brothers: Randy (Amanda) Blankenship and Archie Blankenship both of Woodman, KY, four sisters: Maggie (Lonzo) Rife of Hurley, VA, Linda Dotson of Hurley, VA, Patsy “Tootie” Sneed (Danny Justice) of Hampton, TN and Annette (Terry ) Ratliff of Taylorsville, NC, three grandchildren: Peyton, Kylie and Kacie, and a special niece: Sherry Morrison.  He is also survived by a host of other family, neighbors, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones & West Funeral Home Wednesday, January 06, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverends Odis Blankenship and Eddie Dotson officiating.

Burial will follow in the Blankenship Family Cemetery of Woodman, KY with Blake Hensley, Randy Blankenship, Kevin Sellards, Rick Blevins, Kendall Morrison, Konnor Morrison, Nathan Hatfield, Richard Ratliff and Tad Ratliff serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be Tuesday evening beginning at 6:00 P.M. with special services at 7:00 P.M.
