Roy Robinett JR

Roy Robinett Jr. of Kimper, KY passed away Monday April 05, 2021 at his residence. He was born November 29, 1949 in Phelps, KY the son of the late Roy Sr and Nettie “Moore” Robinett. He was 71 years old.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter: Stephanie Robinett, a brother: Mark Robinett, three sisters: Sandy Layne, Billie Jean New, and Sue Justice.

Roy was a United States Army Veteran who worked as a heavy equipment operator having worked for Old Dominion Mining. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Roy enjoyed tinkering with cars or anything mechanical. He also enjoyed sitting on the porch talking with his friends and neighbors. He will be missed.

Survivors remaining to cherish his memory include his loving wife: Peggy “Irick” Robinett, a son: Bruce Robinett (fiancée Yolanda Spencer) of Pikeville, KY, a sister: Bennarai Rice of Romulus, MI, three grandchildren: Dustin Anderson, Dakota Anderson, and Tyler Robinett. He is also survived by three great grandchildren, other extended family, neighbors, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones & West Funeral Home Saturday April 10, 2021 at 12:00 P.M. with Reverends Frankie Layne, Robert Coleman, and Eddie Dotson officiating.

Military Rites will be conducted by the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter 141 of Belfry, KY.

Burial will follow in the Robinett Cemetery of Stopover, KY.

Visitation will be in the funeral home chapel Thursday and Friday evening from 6:00-10:00 p.m. with special services nightly at 7:00 P.M.
