Mary Ann Chapman, 76, of Cincinnati, OH, formerly of Pike County, KY, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2019 at her residence. She was born May 27, 1942 in Freeburn, KY, a daughter of the late Hobert & Josephine Chapman McClanahan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Carl Jay Chapman; one son: John Kennedy Chapman; three brothers: Homer Thompson, Gary McClanahan, Paul James McClanahan; and one sister: Cornetta Thompson.
Mary was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith. She loved painting & decorating her home. Mary loved nature & the beauty of the outdoors. She especially loved Kentucky and the beach. Mary also enjoyed babysitting & being around children. She was one of the best mothers you’d ever meet in your life. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed watching western movies and she was truly one of Elvis Presley’s biggest fans.
Those left to honor Mary’s memory include one son: Jason Chapman of Cincinnati, OH; two daughters: Teresa (Dave) Highlands, Alicia Ann (Blair) Murphy of Cincinnati, OH; four grandchildren: Brittany Hart, David Highlands III, Brendan & Braxton Murphy; two great grandchildren: Levi Jay Hart, Sophia Ann Marie Hart and a host of family & friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 Noon Wednesday May 29, 2019 at the Freeburn Free Pentecostal Church with Reverend Kenny Chapman officiating.
Burial will follow in the Chapman Family Cemetery at Freeburn.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. Tuesday at the church with special services at 7:00 P.M.
