Melissa Dotson, 49, of Zebulon, KY, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017 at her residence. She was born September 5, 1968 in Chicago, IL, a daughter of Russell Dotson & the late Thelma “Bryant” Dotson. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by one brother: Tommy Altizer.
Melissa was of the Christian faith and formerly worked as a caretaker of the elderly. She cared more about everyone else than she did her own self.
She leaves behind her loving companion: Victor Flowers of Zebulon, KY; father: Russell (Sharon) Dotson of Pikeville, KY; two brothers: Dale (Tina) Altizer of Georgetown, KY, Randy (Carol) Hunt of Vero Beach, FL; one step-brother: Ricky Dotson of Iaeger, WV; a host of family & friends, and her cat Rocky she loved so much.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 4th at the Jones & West Funeral Home with Reverends Larry Rife & Ervin Dotson officiating.
Burial will follow in the Rife Family Cemetery, Upper Elk Creek, Hurley, VA.
Visitation will be from 6:00 – 10:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home with special services at 7:00 P.M.
