Perry Daniels

Perry Daniels, 69, of Vulcan, WV, passed away on Friday, December 21, 2018 at the Tug Valley ARH Medical Center in South Williamson, KY. 

He was born August 5, 1949 in Majestic, KY, a son of the late Ruddo and Alta “Cisco” Daniels.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Peggy Pruitt Daniels; his “other Mom & Dad”: Emitt and Janet Murphy; one brother: Doc Daniels; and one “brother by choice”: General Daniels.

Perry was of the Christian faith and occasionally attended the Delorme Bible Church at Edgarton, WV.  He was retired from the railroad, having worked for Norfolk & Southern, formerly known as N & W.  Perry loved going to and participating in car shows.  He was an excellent woodworker, and he & Sharon would often enjoy going into the woods for materials to make walking sticks, crosses & hearts.  Perry loved his family, friends, and neighbors.  He will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish his memory include his companion and fiancée, Sharon Blankenship of Canada, KY.  They were to be married on February 14th of the coming year.  Perry is also survived by three daughters: Isabella, Chloe, & Heather Smith; three brothers: Albert “Hoss” (Phyllis) Daniels of McCarr, KY, John (Michelle) Daniels of Woodman, KY, Johnny (Kim) Daniels of Hurley, VA; three “sons by choice”: Orville (Misty) Blankenship of McCarr, KY, Michael (Mary) Blankenship of Morganfield, KY, Edward “E.J.” Blankenship of Canada, KY;  five “brothers by choice”: Kevin (Sheri) Murphy of Aflex, KY, Jackie (Kim) Murphy of Hardy, KY, Robert Murphy of Williamson, WV, Josh Murphy of Matewan, WV, Bill (Wilma) Casey of McCarr, KY; five “sisters by choice”: Imogene (Sonny) Hayes of Matewan, WV, Sue (Doug) Estep, Mary (Steve) Coleman, Hattie (Damon) Runyon, Lesia (Paul) Runyon all of McCarr, KY; eight grandchildren: Peggy, Adriane, Kaylee, Karrie, Keri, Joey Blankenship, Dalton Young, Tommy Fraley; great granddaughters: Kaz and Grace; great grandsons: Brayden and Clay; special nephews: Todd Daniels, David (Lisa) Daniels, Knot Head; and a host of family & friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday December 29, 2018 in the Jones & West Funeral Home chapel with Reverends Steve Spurlock and Odis Blankenship officiating.

Burial will follow in the Daniels Family Cemetery, Woodman, KY.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home with special services at 7:00 P.M.
