Tami Sue Slone

Tami Sue Slone, 48, of Pikeville, KY, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, KY.  She was born October 19, 1969 in Delaware, OH, a daughter of the late Elster Lee Slone Sr. and Sandra Kay Thacker.  In addition to her parents, Tami was also preceded in death by her stepfather: Rufus “Rusty” Thacker; stepmother: Aline Slone; two brothers: Jeffrey Slone & Rufus “Sparky” Thacker; and one sister Lorraine Crumrine;

Tami was a member of the Canada Freewill Baptist Church. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and making dreamcatchers.  She will be sadly missed by all who loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include one son: David (Tia) Adkins of Sidney, KY;  one daughter: Misty (Chris) Deskins of Pikeville, KY; five brothers: Elster “John” Slone of Kimper, KY, David and William “Billy” Slone of Sidney, KY, Joseph “Joe” Thacker of TN, and Vernon Cope of AL; one sister: Margie (Ted) Jones of Churchhill TN; three grandsons: Peyton & Kylen Deskins and Joshua Adkins;  four granddaughters: Dani Rae Hammonds, Kelsi & McKynzi Deskins & Laiken Adkins; as well as many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.  

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Canada Freewill Baptist Church with Reverends Roger Williamson and Jack Maynard officiating.

Burial will follow in the Smith Cemetery # 2, Road Fork, Sidney, KY with family & friends serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. Thursday & Friday at the Canada Freewill Baptist Church with special services nightly at 7:00 P.M.
