Bessie May “Ingersoll” Mounts of Freeburn, KY passed away Thursday October 15, 2020 at the Pikeville Medical Center of Pikeville, KY. She was born June 10, 1934 at Majestic, KY the daughter of the late Levi and Lori “Blackburn” Mounts. She was 86 years old.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years: Taylor Mounts, two sons: David and Gary Mounts, a daughter: Norma Jean Hardin, three brothers: Eugene Ingersoll, James Ingersoll and JR Ingersoll, three sisters: Della Rayburn, Norma Thacker, and Ellen Charles, two grandsons: Ronnie Taylor “R.T.” Hardin and Joshua Dillo.
Bessie was a loving homemaker who always loved and enjoyed her children and grandchildren. She worked as a factory worker having worked for the Brach’s Candy Company. She was of the Pentecostal faith and loved being in church. Bessie and her husband Taylor were the founders and builders of The Eagle’s Nest Church of Barrenshe Creek, Freeburn, KY. She also enjoyed her plants and flowers.
Survivors remaining to honor her loving memory include her daughters: Pamela Kay Mounts (Kenny Ison) of Freeburn, KY and Michelle Gearles (Ronald) of Phelps, KY, a son: Tennis Mounts of Freeburn, KY, two brothers: Charles Ingersoll, and Johnny Ingersoll, three sisters: Betty Sue Ingersoll, Danny Gauze and Maggie Ingersoll, seven grandchildren: Calvin Gearles, Cassie Day, Gina Lester, Laura Norman, Daniel Mounts, Rebekah Maynard and Christina Mounts. She is also survived by a son in law: Ronnie Hardin, a daughter in law: Janeice Mounts, fifteen great grandchildren, other family, neighbors, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the Jones & West Funeral Home of Phelps, KY, Sunday, October 18, 2020 at 12:00 noon with the Reverends Marty Lester and Odis Blankenship officiating.
Burial will follow in the Taylor Mounts Family Cemetery of Barrenshe Creek, Freeburn, KY.
Visitation will begin Saturday evening at 6:00 P.M.
