Darrius Coleman

Darrius Coleman age 83 of Phelps, Ky. departed this life on November 9, 2021, at the Pikeville Medical Center. Born on October 24, 1938, in Phelps, Ky. a son of the late Lawrence Coleman and Pearl Thorpe Coleman. He was also preceded by his wife of 54 years Inis Coleman, Brothers Donald Ray and Earl, and James Edward Coleman, and sister Connie Jackson.

Darrius leaves to mourn his passing, his children Lora Diane (Dave) Wolford of Freeburn, Ky. Michael (Angie) Coleman, of McCarr, Ky. and Crista Gail (Gabriel) Banks of Phelps, Ky. Grandchildren, Travis Prater, Zachary Wolford, Jaden Banks and Isabella Coleman and a great granddaughter Alexia Prater. He is also survived by two sisters, Lois Carol (William Arthur) Harris of Hickory, NC. and Joyce Collie of Munford, TN.  He also leaves a special friend Emory Wolford.

Darrius was a member of the Freeburn Pentecostal Church of God and was a powerful witness for the Lord. He enjoyed performing Bluegrass Gospel Music in Church.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 P.M. on November 17, 2021, at the Jones & West Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday and Thursday night, there will be services at 7:00 P.M. Funeral services will be on November 19, 2021, at 1:00 P.M. with interment following at the Freeburn Community Cemetery at Barn Hollow. Odis Blankenship, Charles Meeks, and Ronald Kenny Chapman officiating.
