Floyd Everett "Hawk" Smith Jr

Floyd Everett “Hawk” Smith Jr., 65, of Phelps, KY, gained his wings on November 19, 2019, while a resident of the Good Shepherd Community Nursing Center at Phelps.  He was born September 10, 1954, in Williamson, WV, a son of the late Floyd & Geraldine “Stump” Smith. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother: Adam Smith, and two sisters: Vivian Smith and Kathy Casey.

Everett was known for his love of the outdoors.  He enjoyed his evenings hunting, fishing, and spending time with those closest to him.  He was a loving father and grandfather who spent the majority of his time with his grandchildren.

Everett is survived by two sons: Everett Allen (Tyra) Smith, of Hardy KY, and Jordan (Kayla) Smith, of Hardy, KY; three brothers: James (Huletha) Smith of Phelps, KY, T.A. (Rhonda) Smith of North Carolina, Ricky Smith of Phelps, KY, three sisters: Georgia (Dallas) Smith of Phelps, KY, Margaret Smith of Knoxville, TN, Marcella (Dwayne) Yates of Sidney, KY; four grandchildren: Hunter Dean Williamson, Ethan Kyler Smith, Chloe Marie Smith, Landon Jeffery Smith, and a host of nieces and nephews & others he loved dearly, who will mourn his passing.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, November 22, 2019 at the Jones & West Funeral Home with Reverend Michael Casey officiating.

Burial will follow in the Smith Family Cemetery, Smith Fork, Phelps, KY.

Visitation will be from 6:00 - 10:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home with special services at 7:00 p.m.
