Irvin Smith Obituary


Irvin Bryan Smith, born January 13, 1944, from Ransom KY, passed away on February 12, 2021 at his residence at the age of 77.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elsworth and Lola Smith, a daughter, Lola Ann Smith, granddaughter Paige Dennis, four siblings, Eleanor Lou Smith, Elmer Smith, Frank “Shorty” Smith, “Baby Sue” Smith, and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts ,uncles, and friends. 

He was a retired coal miner, having worked for Fool’s Gold Energy.  Irvin was also a United States Navy Veteran, having served from 1963 through 1967. 

He was a loving husband of 56 years to his wife, Elsa “Bevins“ Smith of Ransom who survives him; and a wonderful father to four daughters, including Tissa Smith of Lexington KY, Tina Smith of South Carolina, and Nikki Smith Dillon of Ransom, KY. Irvin is also survived by two brothers, Jackie Smith of Ransom, Dickie Smith of Belfry, KY, and one sister, Debbie Smith of South Carolina.  His grandchildren include: Michael Scott of Ransom, Stephanie Scott of SC, Emily Smith Stroud of Belfry, Faith Smith of S.C., and one great granddaughter, Lola Rae Stroud of Belfry.

Due to his wishes there will be no services.
