Janet Sue Blankenship

Janet Blankenship 68, of Matewan, West Virginia passed away March 2nd, 2023, at Pikeville Medical Center. She was born September 29th, 1954, in Matewan to the late Roy and Ruth “Alderson” Snell.  In addition to her parents, she is also preceded by husbands, Ronald Justice; Walter Sheets; and Larry Blankenship; son, Roger Justice; brothers, Eddie Snell; Wayne Snell; Robert Snell; and Jimmy Snell; sisters, Yvonne Hurley; Diana Murphy; and June Miller.

Janet was a loving mother and grandmother.  She treasured her family dearly and she loved spending time with them. 

Those surviving Janet are her children, Jerry Justice of Matewan, WV; Janice Cook (Matthew) of Matewan; Kelly Justice (Candra) of North Carolina; Heather Sheets (Duane) of Matewan; grandchildren, Trent Rodriguez (Hannah) of Belfry, Ky; McKenzie Rodriguez of Matewan, WV; Dane Rodriguez (Kay) of Fremont, Ohio; Amanda Webb (Dakota) of Newtown, WV; McKenna Crum (Kyle) Georgetown, Ky; Kalib Crum of Matewan, WV; and Kylah; nine great grandchildren; brothers, Ronnie Snell; Richard Snell; Michael Snell; David Snell; GC Snell; and Hassle Snell. 

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 9:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 5th & Monday, March 6th, 2023, at Jones & West Funeral Home in Phelps, Ky. with special services at 7:00 P.M. with Pastor Ronnie Wolford officiating.   Cremation will follow upon the family’s request.
