Jimmy Daugherty of Phelps, KY passed away Thursday, September 17, 2020 at his residence. He was born August 28, 1940 at Jamboree, KY the son of the late Dennis and Nancy “Coleman” Daugherty. He was 80 years old.
Jimmy was a coal miner and was highly intelligent with mechanical work. He loved to work on automobiles. He also enjoyed going to church and was a member of the Jamboree Church of God. When Jimmy was out and about, he was always encouraging others to go to church with him.
Survivors remaining to honor his memory include the mother of children: Jean Workman Daugherty; a son: Jimmy Douglas (Mary Lavel) Daugherty of Resaca, GA, three daughters: Pamela Sue Daugherty, Sharon Kay (Harvey) Ray and Connie Zean all of Calhoun, GA, two brothers: Billy Ray (Ruth) Daugherty of Bean Station, TN and Howard (Geraldine) Daugherty of Phelps, KY, three sisters: Linda Daugherty of Lexington, KY, Lillian (Booney) Blankenship of TN and Geneva Windous of Portland, OR and three grandchildren: Caleb, McKinsey and Cody. He is also survived by a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 20, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the Jones & West Funeral Home of Phelps, KY with Reverend Larry Blackburn officiating.
Burial will follow in the Daugherty Family Cemetery of Beech Creek, Phelps, KY.
Visitation will be at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6:00-8:00 P.M.
