Kenneth Franklin Stevens stepped over into Glory on October 10th, 2023, at the age of 84, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Phelps, KY on April 28th, 1939, a son of the late Hubert and Dixie “Hurley” Stevens.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded by an infant daughter, Peggy Sue Stevens, sisters, Birdie Irick, and Sheryl Kay Stevens, brothers-in-law, Everett Irick, and Henry Layne.
Those left to cherish the memory of Kenneth includes his wife, Geraldine Stevens of Phelps, KY; children, Franklin Kenneth (Kelly) Stevens, of Elmore, OH; Sheryl Kay (Tony) Hire of Van Wert OH; Shianna Lea Stevens (Storm Prater) Of Freeburn, KY; brothers, Jimmy (Helen) Stevens, and Donald (Ola) Stevens both of Phelps, KY; sisters, Vivian (Charlie) Ferrell of NC, and Shelva Jean Layne of Freeburn, KY; grandchildren, Matt Pocock (Michelle) of Toledo OH, Tara (Scott) Morrin of Toledo, OH, Heidi (Eric) Boullion of New Reigel, OH, Samantha (Nick) Churchill, of Tippin, OH, Kelli (Christopher) Heinlen of Columbus, OH, Daniel Stevens, of Baskin OH; great grandchildren, Addison, Maci, Brayden, Ainsley, Kaitlin, Zack, Emma, and Micah. Kenneth is also survived by a host of family and friends.
Kenneth was a factory worker in his younger years. He was a member of Phelps Freewill Baptist Church. Kenneth was an ordained minister and had served as assistant Pastor at Clyde Church of God in Clyde, Ohio. He enjoyed working on cars, especially muscle cars. He was the owner of the former Ken’s garage in Clyde Ohio. He always loved gardening, growing tomatoes, onions, & cucumbers. He spent much of his later time taking care of his beloved mom, Dixie. Kenneth also enjoyed watching woodworking videos on his laptop. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 P.M. Thursday, October 12th, 2023, at the Jones & West Funeral Home in Phelps, KY.
Funeral services will begin at 1:00 P.M. Friday in the chapel with Pastors Daryl Wolford, and Larry Blackburn officiating.
