Nelson Coleman

Nelson Coleman 72 of Majestic, KY passed away Friday May 7, 2021 at his residence. He was born July 3, 1948 in Stopover, KY the son of the late Hayes and Amie “Blankenship” Coleman.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister: Nancy (Jessie) Blankenship, four brothers: Perry, Malon, and Dodge Coleman and Paul Coleman who passed away at birth.

Nelson was mostly a homebody who enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. He liked raising goats and caring for his chickens. Nelson worked as a blaster on a strip job having worked for Morris & Marshall Coal. He was of the Pentecostal Church of God faith and enjoyed visiting different churches.

Survivors remaining to cherish his memory include a sister: Amie Vandyke of Stopover, KY, a special friend: Billy Dotson and a host of nieces, extended family, neighbors and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Jones & West Funeral Home of Phelps, KY Tuesday May11, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Odis Blankenship officiating.

Burial will follow in the Mitchell Cemetery of Majestic, KY.

Visitation will be in the funeral home chapel Monday evening from 6:00-10:00 P.M. with special services at 7:00 P.M.
