Onnie Ray Lester

Onnie Ray Lester of Phelps, KY passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at his residence.  He was born July 23, 1961 in Grundy, VA. the son of the late Roland and Pricey “Wolford” Lester.  He was 59 years old.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Robert “Bobby” Lester and a sister Norma Lee Stump.

Onnie Ray was a carpenter and block mason by trade.  He was baptized at the Jamboree Church of God.  His family was the most important thing to him.  He was a jokester and enjoyed making people laugh.  Onnie also loved helping people and if he had anything a person needed, he would give it to them.  He enjoyed four-wheeler riding and lived life to the fullest.

Survivors remaining to honor his memory include one daughter: Tasha Dotson (Jerry Layne) of Phelps, KY.  One brother: Timothy (Norma) Lester of McAndrews, KY.  Three sisters: Sharon Casey of West Liberty, KY,  Jackie (Tim) Young of Stopover, KY, and Hilda Francis (Rick) of Stopover, Ky, one grandchild: Connor Dotson of Phelps, KY, three special nephews: Dane, Jason, and Michael Francis.  He is also survived by a host of other special nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, November 15, 2020 at the Jones & West Funeral Home with Reverend Harold Layne officiating.

Burial will follow in the Lester Family Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6:00 – 10:00 P.M. for family & close friends.
