Philip Mounts, 77 years old of Freeburn, Ky. passed away on July 20,2021 at the Appalachian Regional Hospital, in South Williamson, Ky.
Born December 23, 1943, at Freeburn, Ky. a son of the late Flannary and Naomi Hamilton Mounts. Besides his parents Philip is also preceded by a son Charles, sisters Vivian, Rosa Lee, and Dianne. He is also preceded by half brother Flannery Mounts, and sisters Pauline Layne, Julie Massoro and Inis Welch.
He was a retired coal miner, having worked at Chisholm Mine. He was a member of the Thomas DeVenny Masonic Lodge. He was an avid fisherman and hunting with friends was a source of joy for him.
Philip was a man of faith, he was a member of the Barrenshea Church of God at Freeburn, Ky.
Philip leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Darlene Mounts of Freeburn, Ky. sons, Ronald (Jackie) Mounts, Tazewell, TN. And Tennis Mounts of Freeburn, Ky. Brothers Doug (Betty Joe) Mounts, TN. Hillard (Anita) Mounts, Freeburn, Ky. Steve (Lisa) Mounts (Miss.) Sisters, Margie Prater, and Mable Dotson, Freeburn, Ky. Wilma Hardin Chestnut Hill, Ill., Rochella (Paul) Hurley, Majestic, Ky. and JoAnn (Tony) Clusky of Red Jacket, W.V..
Four Grandchildren, Brittany, Channing, Tyler, and Aliegh. Three Great grandchildren. A special niece Movita Church, a host of nieces and nephews and friends. And special friends Willis Dotson and Rosco Church.
Visitation will begin Saturday July 24, 2021 at the church beginning at 6:00 p.m. with services at 7:00. Funeral services will be Sunday at 1:00 p.m. with Bobby Dale Wolford, Doug Maynard and Kenneth Chapman Officiating. Burial will be at the Flannery Mounts Cemetery at Barrenshea.
