Robert Stump Obituary

With much sadness, we announce the passing of Robert Harrison Stump, 84, of Phelps, Kentucky on February 18th, 2024, at his residence. He was born February 27th, 1939, a loving son of the late Floyd and Hazel “Dotson” Stump. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded by his brothers, James & Russell Stump.

Robert was of the Church of God faith and a carpenter by trade. He had a profound love for working with wood. He built his own home furnishings and kitchen cabinets. Robert enjoyed hill climbing in his jeep and he loved to hunt and fish in his spare time.

Those surviving to honor Robert’s memory include his cherished wife, Gayenell Stump of Phelps, KY; one son, Craig (Mami) Stevens of PA; one daughter, Yolnda Viola of NM; brother, Cletis (Clara) Stump of Fort McCoy, FL; and three grandchildren. Robert also leaves behind a host of extended family and friends.

A private funeral was held at the Jones & West Funeral Home.

Interment concluded at the family cemetery at Abbey Branch in Phelps, KY.
