Obituary
Roger Lee Hunt 74, of Pikeville, Ky. passed away January 13th, 2023 at Pikeville Medical Center. He was born in Pikeville, Ky. March 30th, 1948, to the late Boyd and Lizzie “Varney” Hunt. He is also preceded in death by his first wife, Darlene Hunt; brothers, Virgil, and David Hunt. One sister, Phyllis Ward and his daughter, Debra Thacker.
Roger was a retired coal miner and a member of Edo Freewill Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing bingo and fishing. He loved watching tv and browsing his computer. Most of all he loved his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving companion, Sandra Hunt. Children, Ricky (Shannon) Hunt of Phyllis, Ky; Randy Hunt of Russell Springs; and Brenda (Steven) Mounts of Northport, AL; brothers, Danny (Patty) Hunt of Phyllis, Ky; Willis (Nancy) Hunt of Phyllis, Ky; grandchildren, Rodderick (Sheena) Hunt; Christopher Hunt, Matthew Hunt, Kameron Hunt, Kenesha Skeens, Katelyn Mounts, Adrian Stumbo, and Andria Rhosier. Great grandchildren, Kinzlee Hunt, Coleson Hunt, Carter Hunt and Saint Hunt. Special friends, James Hunt, Gene Slone, John, Paul, Jeanine, Julie, and Brenda.
The family would like to welcome friends at 6:00 P.M. at Edo Freewill Baptist Church in Gabriel, at Kimper, Ky. on January 15th, 2023. Elders of the church will officiate. To honor Roger’s wishes cremation will follow visitation.
