Stephen "Stevie" Eugene Blackburn

Stephen “Stevie” Eugene Blackburn of Freeburn, KY went home to be with the Lord; Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at the Pikeville Medical Center of Pikeville, KY. He was born October 3, 1969 in Williamson, WV the son of Mary Jo “Potter” Blackburn of Freeburn, KY and the late Russell Eugene Blackburn. He was 51 years old.

Besides his father, Stephen was preceded in death by his favorite aunt who is in heaven with him; Sandy Ann “Mikles” Kennedy, a nephew: Jacob Lester and a special aunt: Ernestine Wolford.

Stevie was of the Church of God faith and his favorite thing was serving the Lord. He enjoyed singing in church and was a faithful member of the Jamboree Church of God of Phelps, KY. He loved his family and his church family, he especially loved spending time with his nephew Caleb and Caleb’s fiancé Jennifer. Stephen enjoyed making people laugh and wanted them to be happy. He also loved to pray for people. Anyone would want to have a son like him, he showed everyone love.

In addition to his mother survivors remaining to honor his memory include his sister: Lisa (Ernest JR) Lester of Phelps, KY, his nephew: Caleb Lester (fiancé Jennifer Chafins) of Phelps, KY, special cousins: Monica and Joey, two good friends: Curtis Hamilton of Stopover, KY and Andre Pruitt of Phelps, KY. Stevie is also survived by a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones & West Funeral Home of Phelps, KY, Monday February 8, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverends Larry Blackburn and Danny Mikles officiating.

Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens of Huddy, KY with family and friends to serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be at the chapel Sunday evening from 6:00-10:00 P.M. with special services at 7:00 P.M.
