Tonya Marie Mills

Tonya Marie Mills, 41, of Hardy, KY passed away October 14th, 2023, at Pikeville Medical Center.

She was born in Pikeville, KY on July 8th, 1982, a daughter of Deborah Kaye Chafins of Majestic, KY, and the late John Henry Mills.  In addition to her dad, she was also preceded by her infant son, Dalton Lee Mills, maternal grandparents, Autry & Josephine Prater, paternal grandparents, Janice & Joseph Mills, one aunt and one uncle.

Tonya was a homemaker and she enjoyed decorating & artwork, painting, and drawing.  She loved her children very much and will be sadly missed by all who adored her.

Those surviving Tonya includes her companion, David Murphy of Hardy, KY; two sons, Jimmy Ryan and Preston Lee Bentley of Omar, WV; brothers, Johnny and Michael Mills both of Pikeville, KY; sister, Charlotte Lee Prater of Freeburn, KY; aunts, Dolly (Frank) Smith of Matewan, WV, Shelby Prater of Omar, WV, Delia Ingersoll of Freeburn, KY, uncles, G.T. (Jennifer) Norman of Freeburn, KY, and Autry Jr. (Deann) Prater of Freeburn, KY.  Tonya is also survived by a host of family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 9:00 P.M. Thursday, October 19th, 2023, at the Jones & West Funeral Home in Phelps, KY.

Funeral services will begin at 1:00 P.M. Friday in the chapel with Bobby Dale Wolford officiating. 

Interment will conclude at Buddy Mounts Cemetery in Majestic, KY.

Arrangements are under the direction of Jones & West Funeral Home of Phelps, Kentucky.
